Yesterday, we took the boys sledding. Well, I went along for the ride (so to speak), but I couldn't sled this time and I was very sad! I managed to take a few pictures and then sat in the car in the warmth to watch the snow show! The boys (all 3) had a blast! Thatcher was a little nervous at first, but at the end he was sledding all by himself with great pride!
If Only I Had Thought To Start This Sooner...
What great therapy this could have been for me had I only started this blog a year ago!
We've now been in Michigan for one year and one month! It's hard to believe it's actually been a whole year! I'm starting to feel like less of a stranger in some cases, but for the most part I still feel as foreign as I did when we first arrived! Everytime I open my mouth someone turns and stares as if I'm speaking another language. In a way, I guess the southern dialect...especially Louisiana southern dialect is foreign to some. We've heard it all..."Are you from: Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky, and even Australia...?" I've also gotten "Are you British?" I still don't understand the last two inquiries, but I'm assuming the ones who asked were hearing impaired!! No one has ever asked if we were from Louisiana! I'm not the least bit ashamed of my accent. I don't care how much I'm made fun of. It's the most comforting accent and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
I am still not sure why we are here, but I do know there is a reason. We may never know the exact reason, but thankfully God knows and He will carry His plan on until completion. In the meantime, I'm praying that we will thrive here and not just survive! But, I'm also praying that we will one day return closer to home!!
